What it connects
Google Drive is often where a company’s working knowledge lives: plans, decks, notes, and policies. The Drive connection syncs file metadata and the text content of your files into askneutron, so Neutron can answer from them and cite the file it used.
There are two ways to connect. A Google Workspace admin setup syncs across your organization and reads Workspace users, groups, and group memberships for access checks. A single Google account connection is simpler and sees only the files that account can open. Either way, you can narrow the sync to one shared drive, one folder, or a Drive query.
Access and permissions
askneutron syncs each file’s sharing rules along with its content. It reads who a file is shared with, including people, groups, and domain-wide sharing, and resolves group membership from your Workspace directory. Neutron uses those rules to decide which files can appear in a person’s answers.
People are matched to their Google identity by verified email, so the rules apply to the right person. Workspace directory data is used only to resolve access, not as knowledge to answer from.
Good to know
Google Drive is in preview. It syncs into knowledge, and answers cite the file they came from. Live lookups and actions in chat are on the way. Neutron does not edit or delete your Drive files.
