What it connects
A lot of company knowledge is shared in Slack and never written down anywhere else. The Slack connection syncs channels, channel membership, workspace users, and message history into askneutron. Neutron can then answer from those conversations and point to where the answer came from.
Slack is in preview and is a knowledge source in askneutron. Live lookups and actions in chat are on the way. People ask their questions in the askneutron web app, an embedded widget, or their AI tools through MCP, and Neutron uses what was said in Slack as part of its answer.
To connect, install the Neutron app in your Slack workspace and add its bot token in askneutron. Test the connection before saving.
Access and permissions
askneutron syncs channel membership along with messages. Neutron uses membership to decide which conversations can appear in a person’s answers, so private channel messages are used only for the people in that channel.
People are matched to their Slack account by verified email, so the rules apply to the right person. The sync reads only channels the Neutron app can access.
Good to know
Slack conversations are informal and can go out of date. For policies and other answers people rely on, keep a written source, such as an uploaded document or a Drive file, and let Slack add context.
